Textbooks
This year, we will be working with the Holt McDougal World History textbook. We will cover many different areas and civilizations and be able to point them out on a map. Our studies will include the movement of people from hunters and gatherers to the ancient Greeks.
For science, we will be incorporating the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill textbook along with other digital and print resources to cover topics within life science, earth and space science, and physical science.
Students will be using physical textbooks in class, but the current chapters will also be posted as Slides/PDFs on Google Classroom for use at home.
Independent Reading
Students should read each day. Being exposed to new vocabulary and correct sentence structure improves comprehension and writing skills. I ask that students have a chapter book of choice with them on a daily basis.
Those who wish may order chapter books from Scholastic Reading Club. Our class site can be accessed by clicking the picture below, or you can send your child with money and a completed order form. Each order earns us points that can be used to add books to our class library and for our book raffles!
