Child Study Team, LDT-C
***2022-2023 School Year****
Welcome to Robert Fulton School! Hello! My name is Ms. Shari Schwartz.
Work Hard. Be Kind. Stay Safe. Knowledge is Power. You are Enough. You are the Best. Read every day. Gratitude, and More Gratitude.
I am part of the Child Study Team at Robert Fulton school as the Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C). My years of teaching as a Special Education teacher, my education, and my love of learning, have brought me to my wonderful career path on the Child Study Team. I am involved in Case Managing, Educational Testing, IEP writing and implementation, CST meetings, as well as many other interesting and important tasks. My favorite element of my position has been working with students and their families. We work together, with dedicated teachers and caring parents, to accomplish educational goals. Students also learn about advocacy, their own individual strengths and weaknesses, and building self-esteem. The CST focuses on respect, kindness, and effective listening skills. We all need to be heard and understood, as well as to be truly seen and accepted.
My college education has included: Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College (CUNY) in Psychology. I continued on with a Master of Science degree at Baruch College (CUNY) in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I also have taken many essential Master's level Special Education credits. I attended Montclair University for my LDT-C certification. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, traveling, theater and concerts. I also love animals.
I look forward to a successful and productive school year. Together we can achieve, and share the love of learning!
ENJOY THE JOURNEY!
