I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Mr. Salem and I will be the 6th & 7th Grade Math Teacher for this wonderful new year. I recently received my Master's Degree from Rutgers University. I grew up in North Bergen and graduated from Robert Fulton in 2014. I am very eager to get started and work with all the students to have a successful school year. 

 

I have always had a passion for teaching my whole life and I am lucky enough to also be one of the wrestling coaches for NBHS! I have been a student-athlete my entire life and it will be a lot of fun doing the same as a teacher now. Some of my favorite things to do is travel, go to concerts, and spend time with those I love. I look forward to getting to know everyone in this year's class!

 

I know Math is one of those subjects that can be very difficult for some students, but I believe that anyone in this class can succeed. I am a firm believer in having a comfortable, safe, and supportive learning environment that allows everyone to be engaged and most importantly HAVE FUN! I believe in a student-led classroom where the students are the core learning element of the classroom. Students will be able to interact, share, and learn together in a safe and respectful environment. I want students to learn how to be able to critically think and come up with their own strategies for solving and share with their peers different ways of solving.
