Welcome to Mrs. Ricco's Page!
Thank you for visiting my website! This is a great place for you to find information about what is happening in your child's class. If this is your first time visiting my site, please click on the Parent Information link for some important information.
First, a little about myself. I am a highly qualified teacher who has been teaching in North Bergen since 2002. I have a BA in English and an MS of Ed. I am the author of a children's math storybook entitled, Estimation Mountain and the Valley of Tens. I have two children - a daughter and a son. I enjoy reading, doing sudoku puzzles, drinking coffee (preferably Dunkin' Donuts brand) and the color purple!
Now, a little about my classroom. I do my best to keep my classroom a comfortable place where students are learning and having fun doing it. Students are expected to take on a lot of responsibility. They are working more independently in the classroom and remembering to bring their take-home folders each day.
As a parent, you can help things to run smoothly for yourself, your child and me. Please check your child's take-home folder daily. There, you will find lots of information, such as assignments, tests and notices.
Be sure to visit the First in Math and Envisions websites, where your child can play games to practice their math skills, and the Pearson Realize website, where you can practice reading skills with your child. Both of these links, along with others, can be found on my Web Links page.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. See the link labeled "Contact Mrs. Ricco".
